“Life is a gift.

To not find your purpose, package it, and then give it away so that others may benefit is a disservice to God, your family, your friends, and your community.

The truth is every man dies, but not every man truly lives.

Merely existing just takes up space.”

Why?

Some of you might be asking yourselves why the hell this guy won’t shut up about why and that’s fine, lol. You don’t have to read it.

As we near the end of Q4 of ’22, I reflect on the past quarter, the past year, and start to look ahead to Q1 of ’23.

Next year will mark the start of our 13th year in business.

I ask myself why am I am doing this?

Am I doing this for the same reasons I was 5 years ago? 10 years ago?

I am consistently trying to evolve my answers to these questions, because if I answer them the same way each year, have I really grown? Have been able to impact more people? Has my value increased?

While I’ll never have the answer 100% correct, I work every hour, day, week, month, and year to improve the quality of the answer. Not just with my words. Words are cheap. I work to improve them with my actions.

If you haven’t noticed, I love Strength & Conditioning. Like seriously love the hell out of it. 8 days a week, 13 months a year, I love it. It’s definitely my passion.

But I’ve learned that despite it being my passion, which by the grace of God I get to call my occupation.. it isn’t why I am doing it.

Initially I thought it was, but I have since learned that S&C is merely a vehicle to my why. It paves the road TO my purpose.

I am learning more and more every single day about how truly little it is about exercise selection, equipment, set & rep schemes, and ideal programming.

I am learning that my purpose is to serve people.

Sure, that might seem like a simple purpose, but does a purpose have to be complex to be meaningful?

So why am I doing it?

Because I was blessed with the GIFT of life and to not capitalize on my purpose and to not package it and give it away so that others may benefit is a disservice to my God, family, friends, & community.

This is why I’ll forever work to improve the delivery of my purpose.

It isn’t about me. I don’t deserve this. Not at all.

It’s about them.
