The trendy bro stuff that is pushed on the internet is stealing from your kid’s potential.
“You want the athletic performance formula?
Build an unfathmoable capacity for work.
Get scare the shit out of people strong.
Sprint like a man possessed.
Jump like your life is on the line.
But they’ll tell you it’s ‘speed & agility’ class because that money is easy.”

What’s trendy?
What is the kid on the other side of the fence doing?
What is the coach, who is also a bro (severely unqualified) trainer on the side, pushing on kids for short money?
This is how we choose “trainers” in America. (I wish I was kidding.)
And as times passes, the naiveté only grows.
I don’t fully blame the unknowing parents per se, because there is a lot of crap out there to sift through, but I will say that in order to maximize your children’s athletic, and really life potential, you’re going to have to do a little bit of homework.
And the reason is because, mindlessly throwing them in some speed & agility class that every other kid is doing and not getting results from is very likely going to yield the same outcome for your kid.
But the problem in America, when it comes to training, we’re more focused on “checking boxes” than we are getting actual results.
Training is just an “a la carte” item to the real developer, “an abundance of specific sport”. (If you didn’t catch my sarcasm, my eyes are currently rolled completely into the back of my head.)
Regardless of what is currently trending on twitter or what your financially motivated travel ball coach is telling you, here is the athletic performance formula, and no, you can’t get around any of the steps even if Timmy’s dad starts his sentences with, “well back in my day…”
Enhanced athletic performance is like building a house, you must build from the ground up.
It starts with capacity (foundation), you must develop a massive capacity for work so that you can even consider improving your performance.
Then it’s strength. It’s a “controversial” construct now, but that’s because it’s most important. You must get ‘scare the shit out of people’ strong.
Next, it’s onto speed training and force expression, this is done with attacking sprints and jumps like a man or woman possessed. I mean unrelenting intent.
Tip toeing around ladders and hurdles while some guy yells “faster” at your kid is only good for two things:
1. Wasting time.
2. Wasting money.
Follow trends and get left behind.
Start following science-based approaches that actually work.
