They are after what they as adults want and need.
“If you weight 148 pounds and your coach tells you, you need more sport specific work, he’s only trying to make money off you.
These people ain’t after what you need. They’re after what they need.
You need to put 200 pounds on your deadlift and 30 pounds on your frame.”

Relax, it’s a joke. Smile. Happy New Year.
But on a serious note, this year I will be after what I am after every year and that is to encourage youth athletes and their parents to think critically about sports performance.
I will do this by sharing fundamental “wisdom” that is rooted in truth, truth that I spend copious amounts of time researching and studying (real science), to ensure I can do my dead level best to provide the most value to others.
You know, the exact opposite of a misguided individual blabbing his/her opinion on a matter that they manipulate to fit within the confines of their biased narrative, so that they can maximize profits at the expense of our children’s development, like most people in this space.
If me sharing the truth is offensive to some, I apologize.
If me sharing the truth, “costs me”, I will valiantly fight on that hill, at my own expense, for the betterment of our youth.
And if my work inspires just one to think critically, challenge the status quo, and spend time within the realm of real youth development, then I will know that not one minute of my work is in vain.
Can I shift the tide on my own? No.
But I will work at my ripple.
I will not a be fool who complains about “how it is” without putting real time, money, and skin in the game to aid in the shift that is so desperately needed.
I want to start 2024 off by encouraging people to pay attention.
What is everybody else doing?
Mass volumes of specific sport?
Yes? Yes.
Okay, great, got that out of the way.
With this being the trend and “everybody doing the same thing” what is happening?
Most doing the same things are achieving the same net outcomes, right? That’s how averages work.
Obviously, the outliers, who are few, and I mean FEW FEW, rise to the top regardless of what they do, but we cannot use the outlier to justify the norm.
Don’t follow the crowd this year.
Follow the crumbs.
If this missing link was in what everybody else is already doing (too much of) we would have found it already.
Think & act critically.
