Youth Athletes need REAL Coaches

Backyard Joes or Jimmy trying to do it on his own is NOT the way.

“Going to a globo gym to ‘train’ (do random TikTok workouts) and packing on a little bit of muscles about the easiest thing in the world to do.

To consistently train appropriately, being mentored by a Coach focused on global athletic development..

Now that takes real effort.”

“Uhh yeah, my kid is going to stop training because he’s going to go to ‘x’ globo gym to work out with his buddies.”

“Yeah, we have some weights down in the basement we’ll get him on!”

Just say you don’t want the commitment. That’s fine. Commitment is hard, I get it. It’s not going to hurt my feelings one bit.

But to believe your child is going to enter and a globo gym with other 14-16 year old’s and build an ultra-high quality, results inducing strength & conditioning program that will transfer over to sport is about the most naïve thinking in the history of the world.

We are in Year 12 of business and the amount of kids who have left our program citing going to a “globo gym/working out at home” and yielded high quality results that transferred to their sport performance is around 0%. Actually, it’s not around 0%, it is 0%.

To be honest, not only do these kid’s not make any real progress (in the gym or on the field), they typically end up quitting sports all together before the end of their High School years.

I assure you this isn’t just ‘my perspective’. This has nothing to do with me. As someone who regularly converses with quality colleagues in the field across the country, this is the norm across the board.

Just think about it.

Your kid is 16. He’s being influenced by losers on social media apps who use drugs and have big arms.

Do you honestly think your kid is going to go into a globo gym wearing his favorite loser on the internets “merch” and get after some Pause Squats and Bulgarian Split Squats?

Bulgaria what?

Exactly.

Hell no he’s not. He’s going to be in there with every other kid with a shattered iphone and one airpod in their ear doing curls hoping his 13” arms can someday be 14”.

And at home? What if he does take the initiative to do it on his own? Who’s guiding him? Mmhmm.

I get it. It’s cheaper to dump him off at globo gym so you and him can check the “I did something” box.

But, despite the lower commitment & cost, is that choice loaded with an abundance value?

I can assure you it’s not.
